Due Friday, December 21st at the end of 7th period:

- All of your note cards. Do not print these. Any source that you used in your paper must have at least one note card on www.noodletools.com.

- A printed copy of your annotated bibliography. Go to your list in NoodleTools. Click "Save as a Word Document." Formatting Options are as follows:

Add an MLA style heading, save, and then print your document. I WILL BE COLLECTING THIS AT THE END OF THE PERIOD ON FRIDAY!!!

Rough draft uploaded to www.turnitin.com to the assignment labeled Research Paper, Revision 7 (6g). Remember: the rough draft is 50% of your second quarter grade, and it will be graded with the same standards as a final draft. Don't forget to add your "Works Cited" page to the end of your paper.

Revisions and Conferencing

The final draft of your paper is due on Friday, January 18th. This will count as your final exam grade for this class.

Your final paper will be a printed copy. To begin revising your paper, open the file in Word, go to "Tools" and turn on the "Track Changes." Your final copy must be printed with the "Track Changes."

I will be conferencing with each of you next week. You must begin revising on your own before we sit down to conference. This means that you must use the rubric score and the comments I have made on your paper to begin your revisions this week. You may conference with a peer

Your rough draft will be graded using the research paper rubric. Your grade on this draft will count as 50% of your second quarter grade. Your paper must be in MLA format, be 7-10 pages in length, have a works cited page including at least seven sources, have less than 40% quoted material (use www.turnitin.com for this), have less than 5% passive sentences, and a be rated with a Flesch-Kincaid Grade level of at least an eight (use the spell check options in MS Word for this).

Outline Conferencing

Step One: Copy and paste your outline into Word.
Step Two: Put your outline into MLA format (heading, font, spacing, etc.)
Step Three: Save your outline in Word.
Step Four: Print a copy of your outline.

At some point, I will call you for a conference to discuss your outline.

Step Five: Begin writing your paper. You may begin typine into your outline. See the calendar above for due dates.

Assignment for Monday, December 3rd

Read Write for College pages 244-246.

Take notes and post them on your blog.

Then, write your thesis statement and list the 3-4 major supporting claims of your argument. Try to classify your claims.

Once you have done this, you can begin "tagging" your note cards by labeling them with which claim the information on the note card supports.

Guidelines for Writing Your Annotations

By Monday, you must have completed your book. For this book, you must have a citation, an annotation, and at least five note cards. See the link below for more information as to how to write your annotation.
